Shema Kolenu was created on the 4th day of The Yom Kippur War. As Jews throughout the world united in aid of our homeland, we too wished to contribute our share to the war effort. Our purpose was to provide a moment of joy amidst the tribulations of facing war and death. As well, we hoped to somewhat satisfy our brethren's spiritual needs by distributing various religious articles. From the snows of Mount Hermon to the sands of Africa, from the wounded in the hospitals to the healthy in their bunkers, throughout our 180 performances, we were met with unrestrained kindness and consideration. We grew to become very close to our brothers in Eretz Yisroel, and it is to them, the defenders of Israel, that we, Shema Kolenu, dedicate our first album: to those who died for the santification of G-d's name.
