Shalom Hammer served as rabbi of Beth Jacob Congregation, Columbus, Ohio. Rabbi Hammer taught at Yeshiva Bnei Akiva Netiv Meir and Machon Gold College for Women in Jerusalem and he is the founding Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivat Ohr Hadarom in Rehovot, Israel. Shalom has served in the rabbinate of the Israeli Defense Forces and currently he teaches in the Yeshivat Hesder Kiryat Gat, an affiliate of Yeshivat Hesder Sderot, Israel. Rabbi Hammer broadcasts a weekly program on OU Radio called The Sleepless Sermon and he is the author of The Family Parsha Book.
