Statman, Andy & Grisman, David

Two of the most creative mandolin players on the contemporary scene, David Grisman and Andy Statman, have been friends for over 30 years. Legend has it that they were born on the same day, having emerged simultaneously from the womb playing bebop on their baby mandolins. Actually, Andy is a couple of years younger than David, and neither knew how to play bebop until after their bar mitzvahs. This record is their third major collaboration. Statman remarks, "The songs are very simple, but they contain great depths. The more heart a player has, the deeper he can go." If you listen with heart, you'll get there, too.
